Moving, Big Changes in the Physical Realm, & the Ace of Pentacles & the Six of Pentacles

The theme of this week, for me, has been Equanimity- seeking peace and grace in a time of huge change an nearly overwhelming obligation- because this week I moved my family, whilst pregnant, and added my fiancé and his two cats to our growing family by moving my two teens in to his home.

I think that ultimately, this move is a wonderful thing- and the right move for the new baby. Being together with our new baby’s dad feels right! And with this move, we can afford for me to stay home for a while with the baby.

But there’s a lot to do to make this move successful for everyone at the moment. The physical aspects of the move are challenging as I near the final weeks of my pregnancy- my back hurts from the sheer physical work of the move.

My kids and my fiancé are all challenged to live together harmoniously although all are making sacrifices. My fiancé making space for us all by getting rid of some of his possessions. My daughter with a much longer commute to her school. My son sharing a bathroom. Everybody’s stepping up to make life work for the little one who is about to join us.

The coordination of the actual move, from the van rental to paying the teens for their help, to leaving the old home clean, has been my main job this past week – and it will continue to be my main job this next week as well….because as soon as we are moved out we will need to move in really well- after all, I only have a little over a month until my midwife’s home visit. I am grateful for my family’s help, but I am stressed, and I am tired.

I drew the Ace of Pentacles earlier this week. That was followed, later on this week, by the Six of Pentacles. These two cards’ energies perfectly describe the main focuses of this week! Pentacles are the suit of Place – physical reality. Because of the suit’s connection with the element of Earth, it often shows up when physical moves are afoot. Physical moves are often very connected to other matters of Earth, too, such as health, jobs, income and finances.

The Ace, often shown as being gifted from a heavenly hand, is the card of new beginnings, potential, and opportunity. In many ways, this is the perfect tarot environment to see a physical move show up in. What better fortune could be written for a move? “New opportunities in the physical realm” is therefore how I often describe or sum up the Ace of Pentacles for my clients.

The Six of Pentacles showing up just a few days’, later, when the moveout was nearly done, the time-sensitive heavy lifting during cold icy snowstorm sand wind was done and it was time to look after my body and my family’s nutrition, furniture placement and more, was also perfect. Sixes, after all, come after fives….five being the number of greatest change, between numbers 1 and 10. Fives are Upheaval. Sixes are rebalancing after these times of great upheaval.

When the Ace of Pentacles shows up in your reading, look for ways that you are being gifted wonderful new opportunities in the physical realm. Practice gratitude and see the gifts of your situation… as you are going to see new horizons of fortune in many ways. New beginnings signal change, for sure – but fresh starts are the “flavor” of that change.

When the Six of Pentacles shows up in your reading, focus on rebalancing- being fair to your self and everybody around you – finding compassion and care for yourself and sticking up for your rights, needs and desires – whilst supporting everybody else’s balancing too. Recover from big changes and seek what is fair…. focus on this time as a time of recalibration and resetting for your physical reality – a time where you give and receive what is fair.

Have a wonderful week!
